After thoroughly enjoying Club Industry’s fashion show earlier this month, we wanted to call out one of its major contributors – Greenlayer Sports. The fitness industry’s push to offer greener product might have buyers interested in offering greener apparel.
What is the one thing you want to tell our readers about your company and products?
Before Greenlayer, there wasn’t a company that was fully dedicated to high-end performance running and triathlon apparel that was ecologically sensitive (made with recycled materials) and affordable. I knew there was an opening in the market for this.
Tell us what the name of your company means or where it came from?
We wanted to call out that the product was like the “sixth layer” of your skin. “Green” is the eco component.
What is the best advice you have ever received that has helped your company establish itself?
Not direct advice, but a quote that resonates with me: “Some people want it to happen, some wish it would happen, others make it happen.” — Michael Jordan
What is your biggest pet peeve or regret?
People who make excuses or who are negative. Attitude is everything. Every decision I’ve made has had a reason behind it and I’ve learned from each experience.
What were you, as the founder of the company, doing before you launched Greenlayer?
Working at Novartis as a regional sales manager.
