Waking up every day and enjoying a lifestyle that also happens to be my career.
What summer outdoor gear needs the most innovation and why?
When looking across the outdoor industry at gear options for summer, I can’t help but enjoy looking for the latest and greatest gadgetry for the family that loves to get outdoors. A generation of active outdoor recreationalists, who are also parents, are combing the industry for innovative camp accessories that enable each family to recreate in the outdoors with durable, quality gear. These parents are longtime climbers, bikers, surfers, paddlers, hikers and backpackers who demand innovative gear to ease the transition of sharing a passion for the outdoors with their children.
Of course, there are great examples of progressive family-specific gear, like kid carriers from Little Life, outerwear from Marmot, hydration from Camelbak, packs from Osprey, LED tent lights from Eagles Nest Outfitters, family racks from Yakima, do-anything stollers from Chariot, PFD’s from Astral, water sandals from Keen, sun hats from Outdoor Research and sleeping bags from The North Face.
But there is always room for innovation and the industry and our outdoor culture is full of families that hit the trail, rock and river!
