- Woolrich, in Woolrich, Pa., named two new vice presidents to its team, promoting Donna Fitch to vice president of merchandising and hiring Karuna Scheinfeld as vice president of design. Fitch who joined the company in January 2012 as director of Men’s Merchandising, will move up to take on product positioning, merchandise planning, and product costing for men’s and women’s sportswear, outerwear and blankets. Scheinfeld joins Woolrich from W.P. Lavori, where she was Head of Men’s Design of the Woolrich John Rich and Bros. collection. As vice president of design, Scheinfeld will be responsible for directing all efforts in overall brand and product direction and design of all branded products, including all licensing partners.
- Columbia Sportswear, in Portland Ore., has parted ways with Michael “Mitch” McCormick its executive vice president of global sales and marketing. McCormick, who played a significant top role in developing and marketing Columbia’s Omni technologies, such as Omni-Heat and Omni Freeze, left for undisclosed personal reasons, company officials said. He joined Columbia in August 2006 as vice president of sales, and was promoted to his most recent role in October 2008. Company officials said Columbia President and CEO Tim Boyle will assume McCormick’s duties on an interim basis.
- Honey Stinger, manufacturer of honey-based nutritional products, announced the addition of Jennifer Shea as its national sales manager. In addition, current sales team member Christian Boeri has been named key account representative for the grocery category. Both Shea and Boeri will start immediately. Shea joins the Honey Stinger team as national sales manager with more than 15 years of sales and marketing experience across a variety of industries. Shea worked in the magazine industry for leading publishers and national distributers; for the Hearst Distribution Group and Time Warner retail sales and marketing, where she held several leadership positions including brand manager, director of sales for direct and regional wholesale sales and key account management. Her broad experience in media sales and distribution, sales team management and knowledge of supply chain issues and new product introductions will be critical in her new role.
- The Walton Works, an agency specializing in creative marketing strategies, brand development and building PR momentum, announces the hire of Teresa Bruffey as account manager and connectionista. Joining a team driven by relationships, Bruffey brings more than 12 years of experience in marketing, brand development, creative and technical writing and social media cultivation to the company, as well as more than eight years experience in the outdoor industry. For the past five years, Bruffey worked with Seattle-based Outdoor Research as its grassroots marketing specialist. In this role, she managed the grassroots athlete team, sponsorship of core and regional events and growth of the brand through social media outlets including content management of the company’s online magazine, VertiCulture.
- Bergans USA recently announced Ryan Raymond has joined the company as its Rocky Mountain territory manager. Raymond’s experience was gained through independent sales representative, technical rep, customer services manager, store manager and ski and camping retail buyer positions with companies such as Woolrich, Aetrex Worldwide, Dynafit North America and Pine Needle Mountaineering. Raymond also holds numerous outdoor safety certifications in avalanche safety, swift water rescue and wilderness first aid.
- Osprey Packs, in Cortez Colo., hired Larry Bratton as its new distribution center manager, working on integration and optimization of warehouse logistics and operations. Bratton comes to Osprey with more than 15 years of senior management experience, most recently as district warehouse and inventory control manager at Asarco in Tucson, Ariz.
