Who’s on the move: Hans Bergman at LK International AG, Charlotte Ljungquist at DPS Skis, Meghan Clough at OIA, and more

- LK International AG, the parent company of the Swiss premium sports brand KJUS, announced that Hans Bergman will join KJUS as managing director of North American operations, a new position created to enhance the brand profile and increase sales in the North American market, effective Sept. 1. Bergman has almost 20 years of experience developing top brands within the leisure and sporting goods industries. In his latest assignment he greatly increased North American brand awareness and more than doubled North American sales of Assos of Switzerland, a high-end cycling apparel maker. KJUS was established in 2000 by Swiss industry pioneer Didi Serena. The company objective is to develop, market and sell premium ski, outdoor, golf and leisure wear. KJUS clothing is designed in Switzerland and is currently sold in 32 countries worldwide.
- DPS Skis recently hired Charlotte Ljungquist as managing director of Europe. Starting in September, she will be responsible for DPS’ European operations, including retail and marketing efforts, and sales force management. Ljungquist’s hiring coincides with the implementation of a European distribution facility, which is new for the 2012/13 season. It’s meant to mitigate shipping costs for European customers and dealers, while expediting order fulfillment time.
- Outdoor Industry Association (OIA) recently hired Meghan Clough as corporate responsibility coordinator. She began her new position at the end of July. This brings the corporate responsibility department to two full-time employees, reflecting OIA’s commitment to expand support of environmental and social responsibility efforts within the outdoor industry. Clough comes to OIA with more than seven years of experience in the outdoor industry. She began her career in marketing and product at Burton Snowboards, then moved to The North Face to serve as product line manager of equipment. Most recently, Clough was a category manager for Thule Softgoods. At OIA, Clough is responsible for supporting the initiatives and members of the Sustainability Working Group and their work on sustainability indexes, chemicals management, materials traceability and social/labor issues.
- Verde PR hired Kendall Schoemann as an account coordinator in its Boulder office. Schoemann is a recent University of Colorado graduate, who earned a bachelor’s in journalism in May 2012. She is providing support for Verde’s clients including Ibex, Nikwax, Cocona Technology and Zuke’s Performance Pet Nutrition.
