Who’s on the move: Kokatat’s new Northern Rockies rep; Laura Patten promoted at Backbone Media; Janet Fox to leave Under Armour

Backbone Media, in Carbondale, Colo., promoted Laura Patten to the newly of associate media director. As associate director, Patten will be able to provide more support to all staff and clients, lending her expertise in media plan development and execution. Backbone’s 11-person media department plans and purchases over $20 million in media across all mediums: digital, social, out-of-home, broadcast, and print. The agency handles the media for a broad portfolio of clients that includes New Belgium Brewing, Eddie Bauer, Black Diamond, Telluride, Sun Valley and many more.

Kokatat announced that its representative Ted Keyes will add the Northern Rockies to his territories, taking over for veteran Ray Brooks, who has decided to lighten his work load. Keyes will add Idaho, Montana, Utah, and Wyoming to his current Kokatat territory of Colorado, New Mexico, California, Nevada and Arizona. Keyes, an established sales representative in the paddlesports industry, has worked with other watersports gear and boat brands in the western states (including Legacy Paddlesports and C4 Waterman) for more than 13 years.

Under Armour announced the upcoming departure of Janet Fox, its senior vice president of sourcing, effective Aug. 24, 2012. The company said Fox, who had been with the company since 2011, will pursue other interests. Fox is responsible for overseeing the company’s apparel sourcing operations. Under Armour’s chief supply chain officer, Jim Hardy will assume Fox’s duties as the company evaluates its management needs.
