Who’s on the move: Lisa Hummel at the American Alpine Club, Rob Fyfe at Icebreaker, Jacqueline Wazir at Polarmax, and more

  • The American Alpine Club recently announced Lisa Hummel is its new Southeast regional coordinator. Hummel comes to the Club with a wide variety of work experiences, from organic farming to stone masonry to sales and account management in the climbing industry. She started climbing while attending Appalachian State in Boone, N.C., and has climbed and bouldered all over the United States. Recently she has been a pioneer in the development of bouldering in the Linville Gorge.Hummel has been active all over the Southeast as a volunteer for Local Climbing Organizations and events like the Triple Crown Bouldering Series. She will be an asset to Community Programs as the Club continues to build its local presence in the Southeast.
  • Icebreaker has appointed Air New Zealand Chief Executive Officer Rob Fyfe as a board director effective July 1.
Icebreaker founder and Chief Executive Officer Jeremy Moon said he is thrilled to have attracted Fyfe to the company’s board.
  • Polarmax is pleased to announce three new hires at its North Carolina-based warehouse and offices. Paul Messina has been tapped as warehouse and distribution center manager. Messina formerly had managed distribution centers for Hill’s Pet Nutrition and Colgate Palmolive before retiring. Finding himself unable to sit still, Messina rejoined the workforce and now will take the reins for streamlining and managing inventory and shipping for the Polarmax, AYG 365s and XGO brands. Jacqueline Wazir has been named events and social promotions coordinator, and will focus on developing the social following of the brands while engaging younger market demographics. Kaye Hearne joins the team as administrative assistant for the CEO and director of sales, where her job will entail streamlining internal communication and increasing efficiency at the top levels.
  • Klymit recently announced the addition of two new sales team account managers. Nate Baldwin and Tanner Allen will work to expand and maintain Klymit’s business relationships with retailers and dealers across the country. Baldwin and Allen are also Klymit product specialists and provide product clinics for dealers. Baldwin is a graduate of Weber State University with a Bachelor of Science in technical sales. Baldwin worked as an outside sales representative for global companies such as Fastenal and Ricoh. He also worked as an inside sales associate for a Utah golf retailer for three years. In his new role with Klymit, Baldwin is looking forward to combining his love of sales and the outdoors.
