  • Schoeller Textiles AG, which provides fabrics and technologies to the outdoor industry, named Siegfried Winkelbeiner as its new CEO. Winkelbeiner previously served as chief operating officer for the Swiss company. He replaces Hans-Jürgen Hübner, who will remain with Schoeller as a member of its board of directors.
  • Werner Paddles, in Sultan, Wash., added Justin Sams as its southeast sales representative. Sams, who previously worked as a paddlesports retail manager and independent sales rep, will be responsible for servicing Werner dealers in Kentucky, Tennessee, Mississippi, Alabama, Georgia, Florida, South Carolina, North Carolina, Virginia, Louisiana, Missouri and Arkansas.
  • Point6, in Steamboat, Colo., appointed Treehouse Communications, headed by Theresa Blake, to develop its brand communication strategies, encompassing public relations, brand architecture and social media marketing. Treehouse, in Durango, Colo., will work to further Point6’s position in the merino wool sock cycling and running categories, in addition to outdoors and snowsports.
  • Polartec, in Lawrence, Mass., promoted both Allon Cohne and Katie Macomber in its marketing department. Cohne is the company’s new global director of marketing, and Macomber is the new special events manager. Former global director of marketing, Nate Simmons, will continue as a brand consultant to Polartec through his company, Backbone Media, in addition to Backbone’s ongoing work with Polartec on public relations, social media and media planning.
  • Magellan GPS, in Santa Clara, Calif. hired Jeff Burns as its national sales manager for the fitness and outdoor categories. Burns, with previous marketing roles at Reebok and Cool Gear, will provide sales management and build out sales forces for outdoor and fitness.
  • Cordura, in Wichita, Kan., hired Sachiyo Tokunaga as its sales and marketing leader for the brand’s co-branding activities with strategic Japanese luggage, outdoor and apparel brands. She will also lead Cordura brand sales, promotions and marketing initiatives in Japan.
  • Brandwise, a sales technology and service company in Lakewood, Colo., promoted Greg Ford to vice president of sales. Ford joined the company in 2010 and previously held sales leadership roles at Schwinn, Diamondback and Raleigh.
  • Boa Technology, in Denver, Colo., hired Elizabeth Moore as marketing manager and Claire Sprague as senior graphic designer. Moore, who previously worked with Sterling-Rice Group, will manage daily marketing goals and tactics. Sprague previously worked with Juice Communications, where she provided art direction.
  • Spyder Active Sports, in Boulder, Colo., promoted Ellen Welley to vice president of sales for North America. Welley has been with the company since 2002.
