  • Penguin Brands in Sharon Hill, Pa., recently named Nathan Executive Vice President Bridgit Lombard as its CEO. She assumes the role from founder Jon Reichlin, who will continue to advise and support Lombard and the team as chairman. Since assuming the role at Nathan in 2010, Lombard has guided the organization and its two main subsidiaries — Nathan and Penguin Shoe and Apparel Care — to nearly 40 percent growth each year and brokered distribution into 45 countries.
  • Speedo USA, a division of PVH Corp. that focuses on swimwear, appointed Brad Little as vice president of sales for footwear, bags and packs. Little will work with Speedo Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing John Bathurst and Vice President of Hard Goods Barry McGeough. Little will report to Bathurst, and will be based out of Speedo USA’s headquarters in Los Angeles.
  • Skins Compression in Encinitas, Calif., which specializes in gradient compression sportswear, added Ben Harper as channel manager for the endurance and winter sports business. In his new role, Harper will report to Skins Senior Marketing Manager Danielle Said, and work with her to provide cross-functional support to the internal and external sales teams. The focus of his role is to maximize exposure for the brand via endurance and winter sports expos, events and tradeshows, fostering industry partnerships and key partners, grassroots marketing, advertising and sales initiatives.
  • REI, a national outdoor gear and apparel retailer, recently announced that Steven Hooper and Anthony Truesdale have been elected by REI members to three-year terms on the co-op’s board of directors. In addition, incumbent directors John Hamlin and Dagoberto (Bert) Quintana were re-elected to new three-year terms. The REI board also appointed Matt Compton to a one-year term. Earlier in the year, the board appointed Chloe Harford to fill a one-year term.
  • Team Express in San Antonio, Texas, a multi-channel sporting goods retailer, has appointed Greg Barbour as chief operations officer, Ben Marney as vice president of merchandising and Dan Shepler as product manager. The trio is reunited with Team Express CEO Mark Marney, who early this year led an investor group to acquire the company and modernize its infrastructure. Each worked with Marney at The Golf Warehouse (TGW.com) or BaseballSavings.com.
  • Sperry Top-Sider in Lexington, Mass., the nautical footwear brand, has appointed Backbone Media to manage the public relations for its authentic performance initiatives.
  • Ruffwear, producer of performance dog gear, has selected Revolution House Media, headed up by Kate Ketschek, to lead its public relations and communications efforts.
