- Julbo USA, which specializes in performance eyewear, welcomes Ashley Arnold to its roster of sponsored athletes. Arnold, who took first at the Leadville 100 in mid-August, will be a solid addition to Julbo’s team of endurance athletes. Arnold came onto the ultrarunning scene as an associate editor for Trail Runner magazine in Carbondale, Colo. After finishing third in her first 100-miler at the Leadville 100 in 2010, Arnold knew her running potential had not yet been met. Three years later, Arnold is now recognized as one of the top endurance athletes in her sport.
- Fischer Sports, a family-owned supplier of snow sports products, announced a partnership with Groundswell PR, headed up by Dax Kelm and based in Charleston, S.C., to lead its public relations efforts. Groundswell PR will handle all communications strategy and media relations to promote Fischer Sports’ alpine skis, boots and bindings in the United States.
- Marc Blumberg, husband of Chooze Founder and Designer Sharon Blumberg, recently went from an informal to a formal position at Chooze as the brand’s CEO. Marc Blumberg stepped down from his title as president at the marketing agency MEplusYou. Sharon and Marc Blumberg make a balanced, husband-and-wife duo with his focus on operations and finance and her continuing to lead design and branding. His business expertise is the perfect complement to her creativity.
- K2 Skis recently hired Mary Jane Carroll (photo, right) to join its product marketing team. Carroll previously had been an account executive with Verde PR, a position she held since March 2009. Prior to that she was a staff writer at the Durango Herald.
