- SportsArt Fitness America, in Woodinville, Wash., named Scott Sechrest as its new chief executive officer, North America. Sechrest has enjoyed an award-winning career in health and fitness industry. Following his initial role with The Fitness Company as a personal trainer and club manager, he joined Cybex International as a territory and senior product manager. In 2001, he was named to the founding management team at Matrix Fitness, helping establish the company’s position in the North American market. Sechrest returned to Cybex in 2006, holding key roles, including managing major accounts, regional, marketing, product and program development. He currently serves as chairperson for the Fitness Industry Suppliers Association of North America.
- Star Trac, in Irvine, Calif., hired Mike Hibner as director of key accounts. Hiber will drive national key accounts sales for the company through strategic new account acquisition and highly personalized service to existing key account customers. He has more than 20 years of fitness industry experience, including being one of the original members of FreeMotion Fitness as director of national accounts. Prior to that, Hibner owned a gym and served as a territory manager for Cybex International.
- Med-Fit Systems, Inc., manufacturer of Nautilus commercial fitness and Korebalance balance assessment products, hired Chris Walters as regional sales manager for its Southwest territories. Walters formerly worked for Speedtracs America, Fit Supply and Body Works Fitness. He also has a decade of experience operating his own fitness firm, providing services such as supplements and other nutritional needs to corporate and individual clients.
- GoFit named Mark Ish as its new executive vice president of sales. Ish spent the past two years as senior vice president of sales and marketing at Trigger Point Performance. Prior to that, he managed a network of domestic and international sales representatives and distributors and accounted for the sales and management of all domestic sporting goods and regional big box retailers as vice president of sales and marketing for Altus Athletic.
