LEKI has unveiled a fresh new look for the first time in 33 years in conjunction with a complete overhaul of their trekking and trail running pole collections this spring/summer 2022. The relaunch will feature a new logo, an updated website and new innovative pole grip design and technology that is sure to be category game-changers.
“We’re making way for the future of LEKI with these changes,” said Greg Wozer, VP of LEKI USA. “The new branding move and technology upgrades will help modernize LEKI’s brand image and product features while keeping the company true to its heritage.”
LEKI owner/CEO Waltraud Lenhart oversaw this ambitious effort until her untimely passing in April 2021. The new logo features a modern, sleek font positioning LEKI for the future. While the red and yellow underline pays tribute to the heritage of LEKI with the iconic colors that have been visible on LEKI ski racing poles for three decades. The new logo can easily be placed on various color backgrounds.
This new brand identity will be accompanied by two new grip technologies in summer 2022: the Aergon Air grip for trekking and the Trail Shark grip and strap system developed exclusively for trail running.
The LEKI Aergon Air grip is the ultimate trekking/hiking pole grip providing optimal guidance and control.
The hollow core saves weight and the rubberized, positive angle upper grip places the wrist in a relaxed position for optimal comfort on the trail. The oversized Aergon Air grip head provides a stable platform for use when descending. This innovative new grip can be found on more than a dozen LEKI pole models in the 2022 collection.
The LEKI Trail Shark grip is the first-ever grip-strap system developed specifically for trail running and is 30% lighter than our previous grip design for exceptional performance in the most demanding conditions.
The oversized Shark Frame mesh strap fits like a glove and transfers power directly to the center of the pole for optimal propulsion with each stride. The innovative Air-Channel design reduces construction to the mere essentials. The new oversize hook and quick release mechanism make entry and exit from the grip a cinch, even when on the fly.
While retailers and consumers are seeing these upgrades with the launch of the 2022 spring/summer trekking and trail running pole lines, this coming winter 2022/23 will be the first time the relaunch will be seen on the winter collection.
