LeMond Fitness Inks Deal With Life Fitness

Fresh off announcing its formation as a company and telling SNEWS it was ready to pounce, LeMond Fitness has inked a deal with Life Fitness, which will now be the exclusive distributor of the LeMond RevMaster group cycling bike and programs.

Under the agreement, Life Fitness has exclusive distribution rights of the company’s bike and programs in its North American commercial club market, vertical direct markets and international subsidiary regions: Benelux, Brazil, Germany, Hong Kong, Italy, Japan, Spain and the United Kingdom. LeMond Fitness retains distribution rights to all other U.S. and international dealers. Additional terms of the deal were not disclosed.

“We recognize that group cycling is a strategically important category and we are thrilled to partner with the experts at LeMond,” said Dave Gibbons, Life Fitness vice president of business development and strategic planning.

SNEWS® View: In early June, the LeMond company told SNEWS that Greg LeMond had been approached by large companies after LeMond got left behind in the StairMaster deal. And we said anybody of course knew which “big company” didn’t have group cycling and was the likely suitor. Voila, now that company does. It’s a smart move to nab a great company with great product like LeMond.
