Over the past decade, L.L.Bean has given $30 million to nonprofit community and environmental organizations, and the 107-year-old brand isn’t slowing down this year.

“At L.L.Bean, we have a strong legacy of promoting outdoor recreation and environmental stewardship, a legacy that began with my great-grandfather, Leon Leonwood Bean, over a hundred years ago,” said Shawn Gorman, L.L.Bean’s Executive Chairman of the Board. “We are proud that this commitment continues to this day.”

In 2018, L.L.Bean donated $4 million through the L.L.Bean Outdoor Access Fund and the L.L.Bean Community Fund, according to a news release. Of the $2.8 million allocated from the former fund in 2018, the National Park Foundation received half a million dollars of a three-year, $3 million pledge, and The Trust for Public Land received another half a million.

Out of the Community Fund, L.L.Bean pledged more than $1.2 million in health, human services, and educational and arts organizations in Maine.

In 2017, L.L.Bean gave away $2 million.
