SNEWS® Live: Apart from salary and benefits, many people take into consideration a healthy lifestyle as an important factor when selecting a place of employment. Who wouldn’t want to work in an environment that supports your passion for trail running, mountain biking, kayaking or skiing?

Outside Magazine is putting together a list of the best places to work to recognize companies that encourage employees to balance a productive work life with an active, healthy personal life. The idea is to rank businesses in order of their ability to help their employees sustain an active lifestyle. Fitness facilities, flex-time for off-site workouts, bike-to-work subsidies and health maintenance incentives are among the benefits to survey. The popular adventure publication is working with list generator Best Companies Group and Outdoor Industry Association to tabulate those factors that make for a mix of productivity and play in the workplace.

At the 2007 Outdoor Retailer Summer Market in Salt Lake City, Utah, SNEWS® Live met with Peter Burke, president of Best Companies Group, to get the details on the best place to work outside.
