Mountain Hardwear was one of four companies honored on the opening day of the ispo trade fair in Germany with an “Outdoor Award” for technical innovation in a new product. The company’s new Synchro jacket took top kudos in the textile category.

The award is judged by an international jury of industry professionals, including trade media, representatives of German outdoor organizations, as well as representatives from the ispo board of advisors.

The Synchro, a soft shell jacket, is waterproof, windproof and breathable, and is made from the company’s proprietary Conduit Softshell three-layer laminate.

Other winners are:
Footwear — German manufacturer Edelrid for its Mad Rock climbing shoe called the “Hooker,” which was called out for its design that includes a concave sole.

Hardwear — Salewa for its ultra lightweight binding (1,200 grams) called “Pure von Silvretta,” which is made from carbon and has a step-in, step-out function.

Special — The new company called Weps for glasses called “Cassiopee,” which have adjustable arms so they sit perfectly for the needs of different extreme activities.
