The Nautilus Group has selected imagio/J. Walter Thompson (JWT) to take on business and consumer press relations and Integrated Corporate Relations, Inc. (ICR) for investor relations. Part of JWT Worldwide, the Seattle, Wash.-based, “boutique” offices of imagio/J. Walter Thompson will target the consumer press to raise awareness of the Nautilus family (NYSE: NLS) of brands, as well as focus on specific product launches. The business press effort will focus on raising the company’s profile among the business and investor communities. ICR — with offices in New York, Los Angeles and Westport, Conn. — will focus on investor relations strategy while assisting management with shareholder and analyst communications. “We were extremely impressed with both companies’ breadth of experience, as well as their enthusiasm,” said Brian Cook, CEO of The Nautilus Group, in the announcement. “We look forward to working with both imagio and ICR, and are confident that this integrated relationship will be long-standing and highly successful.”

SNEWS View: With the turmoil and the collection of bad press in the last eight months, bringing on a savvy media relations firm may help. SNEWS hopes that JWT can impart to Nautilus that talking to the media isn’t always a bad thing, especially since we expect Nautilus to remain in the spotlight in the future.
