Lafuma Group said it has ended talks with South Korean conglomerate E-Land, which had expressed interest in buying the French outdoor company earlier this fall.

“The very preliminary discussions held with E-Land did not reveal sufficient synergies to achieve a step change in Lafuma’s development strategy, notably on the international front, and in its capital,” Lafuma Group President Philippe Joffard said in a statement.

While the E-Land deal results in a dead end, Lafuma Group recently made the move to sell its countrywear brand Le Chameau to Marwyn Management Partners in October.

Lafuma Group will continue to operate its namesake brand along with Millet and Eider, and it plans to “develop group subsidiaries and partnerships in Asia and in China,” officials said.
