OIWC Seeks Nominations for Pioneering Women Award

Nominations are now being accepted for the annual Pioneering Women Award created by the Outdoor Industry Women’s Council (OIWC) to recognize women in the outdoor industry who have demonstrated an outstanding commitment in mentoring female colleagues.
“The Pioneering Women Award honors outdoor industry women who have had a positive impact on other women’s careers,†says OIWC’s Maile Buker. “This award will strengthen the OIWC’s mission of helping women to further develop their careers in the outdoor industry.â€
Kitty Bradley of Catalyst Communications was the first recipient of the award given during the Outdoor Retailer 2002 Winter Market in Anaheim.
The 2003 honoree will be announced Sunday, February 2nd at the OIWC Reception in Abravnel Hall adjacent to the Salt Lake City Convention Center during the Outdoor Retailer Winter Market. A $1,000 donation will be made to the charity of the recipient’s choice.
Nominations for this prestigious award are to be submitted to Buker at maile@bdel.com by December 1, 2002. Nominations should include 100 words explaining the candidate’s contributions and accomplishments in helping advance women in all aspects of the outdoor industry.
