Outdoor Industry Donations Update: Thorlos, Cascade Designs, Nite Hawk Lighting
Thorlos donates socks to Salvation Army; Cascade Designs pledges to donate $150,000 in gear; and Nite Hawk Kighting ships headlamps.

Thorlos reports that it sent 9,000 pairs of socks to the Salvation Army and other disaster relief organizations in Mississippi. The Thorlos website, www.thorlo.com, also has a link that allows people to make direct donations to the Salvation Army Hurricane Katrina Relief fund.
Cascade Designs has pledged to donate $150,000 in gear to the Hurricane Katrina relief efforts. Nearly 4,000 Therm-a-Rest sleeping pads have been distributed to hurricane victims in Louisiana and Mississippi. And, 12,000 Platypus water bottles have been sent to Water Missions International, an organization with 14 water-purification stations set up in rural areas near the Mississippi Gulf Coast and New Orleans.
Nite Hawk Lighting, a small family-owned company in Canada, donated 40 headlamps to Buffalo Peak Outfitters in Mississippi to be distributed to professionals involved in relief efforts (police, firefighters, etc.) and caregivers.
