Physical education advocates push to keep federal funding

The Physical Education for Progress Grant (PEP) is one program that is threatened to be cut with the president’s wartime budget cuts, according to a Washington Post story. In the Jan. 6 story, the paper wrote: “Overall education spending would remain frozen at about $50 billion, the same as in 2002, after doubling over the previous six years.The president even proposes doing away with a school-based physical education initiative named for a former aide to Sen.
