John Schweitzer of Garmont USA has been selected as the recipient of the 2003 Dagfinn Ragg Award. This annual award is given to a person whose past and continuing contributions have had a positive influence on cross-country ski sports, as well as cross-country skiers.
“Through the wonder years of growing and nurturing the Merrell boot brand to his putting Garmont USA on the outdoor recreation map, Schweitzer has been at the forefront of providing well-conceived and designed cross-country and backcountry ski products. His passion for backcountry skiing is only equaled by his passion for innovative ski products,” said Bob Woodward, SNEWS’ editor emeritus.
