Here’s what you can do as of this week:
>> Choose the delivery date
What this means is no more headline reminders only appearing on Monday evening. Instead, you will be able to choose to receive your SNEWS® News Update alert emails every day, every other day, only on Monday and Friday, only on Friday, just on Tuesday and Thursday, or on whatever days you want. It’s your choice. The default for everyone will be Monday, as it is now, sent at the end of the day. To choose the days you wish to receive your SNEWS® alert emails, simply go to Manage Account, listed at the top of every page in SNEWS®, or click here. Once on the Manage Account page, select Update Email Preferences and make your choices in delivery day.
>> One email, all content
We’ve also done away with a separate email for outdoor and fitness. Instead, your as long as you are an All Access subscriber, your SNEWS® News Update alert email will contain both outdoor and fitness news, press releases and premium content information by default. If you wish to receive only fitness information or only outdoor information, simply go to Manage Account and select Update Email Preferences to make your content choices. SNEWS® Freebie subscribers will receive only outdoor or fitness headlines based upon the subsription preference entered at the time of order.
>>Text only or HTML
You can also select to receive your email alerts in text only or full HTML. Naturally, we recommend full HTML to take advantage of the rich text, design and link options we offer. That’s also under Manage Account where you select Update Email Preferences.
>> No more digests for Free Retail subscribers
All-access subscribers will still have a SNEWS® Digest and access to a complete Digest archive full of past Digests that are available for printing and taking to the lunchroom, the bathroom or on the plane to read at your leisure. However, beginning on March 10, our SNEWS® Freebie subscribers (formerly known as the Free Retail Subscriber) with free, albeit limited, access will no longer have access to a SNEWS® Digest. They will still receive a SNEWS® Headline Alert emails and be able to link directly to each story from there. As always, the limited access means they will have seven days of access to a story once it is posted to our site, as well as limited access to some features.
