The Conservation Alliance announced $280,000 in grants to environmental organizations at its annual meetng during the 2006 Outdoor Retailer Summer Market. Menno van Wyk challenged Alliance members to join him in the creation of $10 million endowment by 2010.

SNEWS® Live — The Conversation Alliance held its general membership meeting on Friday, Aug.18, 2006, during the second day of the Outdoor Retailer Summer Market in Salt Lake City, Utah. Attendees received an update on the group’s progress and celebrated the awarding of $280,000 in grants dedicated to the protection of wilderness areas throughout the United States. Conservation Alliance board president Menno van Wyk surprised the group by not only resigning from the board, but then also announcing his efforts to establish a $10 million endowment by 2010 to ensure conservation funding support in the future.
