SNEWS® Live — A sport utility vehicle criticized for its large size and low fuel economy made its debut at Outdoor Retailer Summer Market with a more fuel-efficient model. Hummer’s presence, however, sparked debate on the mission of the industry and the trade show serving it. Hummer is trying to attract outdoor enthusiasts it thinks are likely to use the off-road, military-inspired light H3 truck. A few show attendees took the car for a test drive, while many others challenged the notion of the company’s efforts to rehabilitate its image. Shamane Mills has this report.
