SNEWS® Live: Since the turn of the last century, the Boy Scouts of America has been one of the nation’s leading organizations for encouraging kids to get outside. The organization recently honored one of the outdoor industry’s own with the Distinguished Eagle Scout Award. Mike Cichanowski, founder and owner of Wenonah Canoe and Current Designs Kayaks, was acknowledged for his years of professional achievement and deep community involvement.
More than 25 years after having become an Eagle Scout, Cichanowski continues to advance the goals of scouting. He’s been making great strides in creating opportunities for both boys and girls to become outdoor enthusiasts. SNEWS® Live visited with Cichanowski at his booth during Canoecopia, a major paddling expo held in Madison, Wis., to bring you this story.
