How do you think specialty fitness retailers can better serve their customers?

It’s really about offering options — different items, like tablet racks, and ways to make fitness entertaining.

What are some things you think the fitness industry is lacking?

Right now everybody is trying to focus on the technology integrated into machines, and for a long time that was what the industry was lacking. Now we’re evolving.

What are some of the trends you’ve noticed over the past few years?

A lot of people want to use their own personal devices, and they take those devices with them to the gym to entertain themselves. They’re finding ways to utilize those devices during a workout.

What are some trends you think we’ll be seeing in the future?

Integration communication and people tracking data to help motivate them and keep them on track to maintain fitness.

What is your favorite thing about working in the fitness industry?

The people. There are such passionate people who believe in what they do. It takes a different type of person to work in the fitness industry and they’re all passionate.
