What products are selling well for you right now?
Octane ellipticals. I think ergonomically they’re the closest thing to running and that’s what people look for when they buy an elliptical. They did very well in consumer reports. Their Q37 was voted number one.
What kind of products do customers request that you don’t carry yet?
We get a lot of requests for MMA (mixed martial arts) products — the punching bags, the speed bags, gloves, things like that, and we don’t carry a whole lot of that.
Do people come into the store and ask specifically for you?
Yeah. Our best form of advertisement is word of mouth I get a lot of referrals from past customers and people that will come in and ask specifically for me because I may have worked with their friends and family.
How have the first few months of the year been for your store?
We’ve done very well. We’ve met and exceeded any goals we’ve set for ourselves.
What are some products you think will become more popular in the coming months?
The Water Rower has really taken off. It’s been our hardest product to keep in stock and a lot of the reasoning for that is they’ve been featured on “The Biggest Loser,” and because of that I’ve never seen anything that’s taken off like this. People will come in and ask specifically for the Water Rower. I see that taking off and continuing to be one of our best sellers in the next few months. Plus, vibration training is starting to take off as well.
