As a part of Sportif’s Outdoor Series, the company for spring/summer ’01 introduced the Aquadilla Zip shirt in three sleeve lengths — short, sleeveless, and (available in July) long. All are a micro-polyester performance moisture-management fabric.
We tested the tank and were impressed first by the slim cut that the tester said left her feeling sleek rather than boxy and baggy like some other tops made for high-intensity activity. The fabric was light, soft and silky feeling, and it dried immediately so it was comfortable from beginning to end. The invisible zipper in the front allowed for extra venting, but the collar was cut low enough so the top didn’t scrap or scratch your neck if zipped closed. Oh, and the armholes were deep enough cut that binding and chafing was simply not an issue. Plus, from an aesthetic standpoint, the sleeveless version had high-cut armholes for a very appealing fit. Seems Sportif put on its thinking cap for this shirt, which is not only functional but flattering.
SNEWSfacts: The Aquadilla shirt comes in S-XL and is available in white, red, celery, maize, black, and cornflower. Available in men’s and women’s sizing. Colors may vary.
