Sports sales disaster in December in Germany

According to recent sports sales statistics out of Germany, sales for December plummeted 12 percent compared to the previous year. The statistic is drawn from an ongoing survey of a representative group of sporting goods shops by the trade magazine sport+mode. The survey included 77 shops across the country. For the entire year, sales were down an average of 4 percent over the previous year, when shops had shown positive sales of 1.8 percent over the previous year, including a 5.5 percent increase in December.
