The sixth annual “Take your Daughter to the Snow Week” will kick off again next year during the week of Jan. 27 to Feb. 2. During that week, selected winter resorts, trail systems, snow sport retailers and rental shops across the country will offer on-snow festivities. Many resorts will simultaneously celebrate a “kids” week, inviting all family members to take part.
Picabo Street, returns for the fourth year as the national spokeswoman for Daughter Week. Street, whose credits include one Olympic gold, one silver and two consecutive Overall World Cup titles, stated in a release: “I started skiing as a child in Idaho and am supportive of any program that brings more women and children to snow sports. I am thrilled to see the event has opened up to kids and will be promoted by a number of the resorts.”
Snowlink.com, consumer website for SnowSports Industries America (SIA), is the promotional sponsor for the 2003 event, providing and maintaining daily updates on festivities. RSN, a national cable television and web network specializing in region-specific content for outdoor enthusiasts, will once again promote the event on the RSN Outdoor Update on CNN Headline News, on the Weather Channel in January, locally on the RSN television network, and in the RSN.com newsletter.
Take your Daughter to the Snow Week is a national snow industry grassroots event to promote girl’s and women’s participation in all snow sports, started by Snow Sports Association for Women (SSAW) six years ago. For more information, log on to www.daughterweek.com.
