“TrailFlex as a concept and viable product is not a dead issue, but as a company, we experienced the perfect economic storm while we were looking for needed investors. As a result, we decided it was in our best interests to shut down the company,” Kauss said.
The development of TrailFlex (www.trailflex.com) was funded by cash flow from Kauss’ other business, TrailTech, which was started seven years ago as a line of hunting apparel and packs that was very successful and shown only at the SHOT Show. However, the cash flow from one end of the business was no longer sufficient to sustain the growth of the other.
“We were able to use the cash flow to keep the business moving along while we sought investors, but with the economic climate in the last several years, that did not pan out as we had hoped,” Kauss said.
Kauss told us that TrailTech has also closed its doors. While TrailFlex has viable pending patents and technology designs for sale, TrailTech’s only value to a purchaser, he said, would be the trademark, as the packs and apparel were generic in design.
While Kauss has several companies in discussions to acquire the technologies and designs of TrailFlex, any company interested in discussing an acquisition should contact him at 724-816-7948 or email erjk@zoominternet.net.
