Following the positive feedback from its 2002 workshops, the UK’s Outdoor Industries Association has expanded the number of one-day training events to be held in Britain. In conjunction with partner PFA International, the 2003 schedule offers a variety of workshops at four locations during the year. Among the topics are Close that Sale!, Visual Display and Merchandising, Leadership and Team Building, Win New Customers and Retain Existing Ones, Stock Control and Customer Service, and Retail Law. The first seminars will take place in Birmingham on Mar. 13 and 14, enabling attendees to combine their trip with a visit to The Ordnance Survey Outdoors Show. Workshops will also be held in Harrogate during the Go Outdoors trade show in September. Association members Coleman and Vango will be hosting workshops at their Portishead and Port Glasgow facilities for easier accessibility for South West England and South Wales and Scotland retailers. All programs are open to UK association members and non-members. For copies of the Go Outdoors Training & Development Planner 2003, call 020-8842-1111 or email info@go-outdoors.org.uk.
