The team at the new GearTrends® Network, which includes the GearTrends® books and web site and the electronic trade news source SNEWS®, continues to expand since its Aug. 19 launch announcement (click here to read).

  • Wendy Geister, former managing editor for Outdoor Retailer and Fly-Fishing Retailer, has joined the network as managing editor as of September. Geister is the latest Outdoor Retailer veteran to join the GearTrends® Network. “I was looking for a new challenge within the industry and I was intrigued when approached about this new venture,” Geister told SNEWS®. “To work with people that I respect and admire was an exciting prospect. I see the GearTrends® Network as a progressive move in the industry and am looking forward to my role within it.”
  • Jerry Janda, former editor-in-chief at Club Industry, a leading magazine for the commercial fitness industry, has also come aboard this month as a contributing writer. He now does marketing writing at SAP.com, the web site for the business software company, but is eager to get back into fitness, too. “I always enjoyed the fitness industry and its energy,” Janda said. “Working with SNEWS® and The GearTrends® Network as a contributor gives me the opportunity to be back in touch with the industry again. Plus, working with the professionals at SNEWS® and GearTrends® allows me to be a part of a business that definitely has a lot to offer the growing industry.”
