- Arc’teryx hired Neil Bradley as its new regional commercial director in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa. Bradley previously served as country manager of Haglofs in the United Kingdom and most recently was the global business manager of clothing for the brand. Arc’teryx also promoted its former European Whiteline sales manager, Eric Schierl, to fill the newly created role as zone south commercial manager for Arc’teryx Europe.
- Skora, in Portland, Ore., hired Chris Elkins as its global sales director. Elkins’ responsibilities include domestic and international sales strategy, brand positioning, sales and marketing efforts, and sales tool creation for reps and retailers. Elkins has spent nearly 20 years supporting global consumer product brands, including Columbia Sportswear, Sorel, Mountain Hardwear, and Stairmaster, among others.
- ZemGear, in Miami, hired Shaun Morris as its new general manager for Canada. Morris previously served as president of Nordica USA and CEO of Benetton Canada.
- Pacsafe, in Hong Kong, promoted Dan Burman as the company’s new head of design and development. Burman has spent 13 years at Pacsafe in various positions, including U.S. national sales manager and international sales manager.
- Bonnier Corp. hired Andy Bigford as group publisher of its Boulder, Colo.-based Mountain Group, which includes Ski, Skiing and Skiing Business. Bigford previously served as vice president and editor-in-chief of Ski from 1996 to 2003, and most recently led his own publishing company, while working in conjunction with Active Interest Media to publish EpicLife magazine and the SIA Snow Show Daily.
- The Clymb, in Portland, Ore. named Mike Steck as vice president of marketing. Steck will be responsible for all marketing initiatives including overall communication, social media, public relations, and growing the Clymb’s member base and sales. Most recently, Steck was global director of marketing for Wilson Sporting Goods. Prior to Wilson, Steck served as senior director of marketing, service and sustainability for Yakima for more than six years. Before Yakima, he was director of marketing at Watermark.
- Spyder Active Sports, in Boulder, Colo. promoted Russ Rowan to senior vice president of marketing and sales for North America. Rowan joined Spyder in August of 2009 and previously worked with Helly Hansen, Burton, and O’Neill. Spyder also promoted J.J. Collier to senior vice president of product and design. In his new role, Collier will establish and execute the vision for the leading concept, design, and finishing. His many years of brand experience include posts as Senior Designer for Salomon and as Design Director at Polo Ralph Lauren RLX.
- Johnson Outdoors, in Racine, Wis., appointed Jeff Levis the company’s product manager for Eureka! backpacks. As the backpack product manager, Levis will be responsible for driving the product development process from product concept, design and development, to final commercialization. In addition, Levis will also add his expertise as PFD product designer for Johnson Outdoors’ Extrasport brand working with product manager and Eureka! veteran, Linda Grebe.
- Interbike, added Sarah Timleck to its team as director of marketing. Timleck, has more than 10 years experience in the motorcycle industry, brings a unique skill set to the position with experience in special events, publishing and trade shows. Timleck replaces Elayna Caldwell, who left Interbike to take a brand management position with SRAM in December.
- MercuryCSC hired Mike Geraci in a new role for the agency — vice president of converged media. In addition, Stacie Wunsch has been promoted to vice president of client services and Maclaren Latta to vice president of consumer insights Geraci will oversee the agency’s Effie-award-winning creative department and implement integrated brand marketing that combines creative strategy with social media, content development, traditional PR, and other innovative channels.
- Teton Gravity Research added Jeff Harasimowicz as head of production. Harasimowicz was previously with the Weinstein Company in New York, and comes to TGR to help lead an aggressive expansion of company initiatives throughout the entertainment and action sports industries. His responsibilities will include leadership of TGR Studios, including overall production management, new business development and high-quality content creation.
- Hi-Tec Sports appointed Simon Bonham as CEO of its U.S. subsidiary. He will be leading the Amsterdam, Netherlands-based company’s two brands in the U.S. market, Hi-Tec Sports USA and Magnum USA. His appointment is effective immediately. Brad Gebhard, former CEO, has opted to leave the company. Bonham is responsible for setting the U.S. strategic vision by working with existing customers and attracting new channels of distribution. He also directs the subsidiary’s strategic marketing campaigns and reports to Hi‐Tec Sports Global CEO Ed van Wezel. He is based at the Portland, Ore. Hi‐Tec Sports USA headquarters.
- The U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service appointed Will Meeks as the new assistant regional director for Refuges in the Mountain-Prairie Region, headquartered in Denver, Colorado. The Mountain-Prairie Region includes Montana, Wyoming, Colorado, Utah, North Dakota, South Dakota, Nebraska and Kansas.
