Win a Free Trip to the Inaugural TransRockies Run

Yes, we know there are only a tiny number of Americans who have the endurance, ability, and iron tendons it takes to compete in this summer’s inaugural Gore-Tex TransRockies Run. Consider that the athletes in this event will cover more than 125 miles of the Colorado backcountry between Sept. 16 and Sept. 21, 2007. The terrain includes a mix of singletrack and forest roads reaching altitudes of 12,000 feet. When not gasping for air, the competitors will likely be enjoying incredible vistas and the shimmering golden leaves of aspen that make fall in Colorado so famous.

However as an Outdoor Retailer Summer Market attendee, you have a unique opportunity. During the show, stop into the Gore booth and drop your business card into TransRockies display box to enter to win a free trip to the event. Drawing will take place right after Summer Market ends SNEWS® is told.

If you’re the lucky winner you will be able to guest-star at the event, staying two nights at the TransRockies tent village and racing on the course for one full stage of the six-stage race. You will also receive breakfasts and dinners at the tent village as well as a technology-rich bundle of schwag from key sponsors such as Gore and adidas, and have an opportunity to experience the magnificence of the Rockies in September.

Up to 150 teams of two (300 athletes) from all over the world are expected to participate, unwinding after each day with gourmet meals, video highlights and hot showers.

While most participants may not have their eye on a win, some certainly will. A combined prize purse of $20,000 will go to top teams in four categories: Men, Women, Mixed, and Men 80+.
