The Adventure Travel Trade Association (ATTA) announced its selection of Scotland as the host destination of the seventh Adventure Travel World Summit (ATWS), the annual global assembly of adventure tourism executives, in 2010, which is scheduled for October 4-7 at the Macdonald Aviemore Highland Resort.
Adventure lifestyle magazine Men’s Journal today initiated a new top level of sponsorship with the Adventure Travel Trade Association (ATTA), a global trade group representing the adventure travel community and nearly 500 corporate members in 44 countries. ExOfficio travel clothing and Gore-Tex brands also join Men’s Journal at this level.
According to the first annual -- 2006 Adventure Travel Industry Survey, Practices and Trends, -- released recently by the Adventure Travel Trade Association (ATTA): women comprise the majority of adventure travelers worldwide; South America ranks highest in terms of increasing destination interest among consumers; and 50 percent of tour operators who don’t currently use travel agents to sell their product plan to do so in the future.
