Backpacker and Yoga Journal, two leading publications from Active Interest Media Inc. (AIM), won a combined six Maggie Awards, the company announced today. The awards, given by the Western Publications Association, reflect excellence in magazine and online publishing in the western United States. Backpacker, which also just won a National Magazine Award for General Excellence, won four, and Yoga Journal won two.

Backpacker magazine, (www.backpacker.com), the authority on outdoor adventure, will launch its hugely popular Get Out More Mobile Tour beginning in April 2008. The Tour, led by seasoned ambassadors Randy and Sheri Propster, will visit 55 venues in 35 states, reaching more than 55,000 hikers, campers and other outdoor aficionados with their expert advice and inspiration.
