Fifty people were shot and killed Sunday at a gay night club in Orlando, and scores more were wounded. It was the most devastating shooting in our country's history, and it targeted a group of people who often face violence and discrimination. As the outdoor industry works to improve gender and race equality, we should not forget about the queer* population, says Elyse Rylander, founder of OUT There Adventures. The non-profit works to get kids in the LGBTQ community out into nature, where they can shed gender expectations, bullies and discrimination.
