Active Interest Media’s Outdoor Group today announced promotions for two senior Backpacker employees. Matthew Bates, the magazine’s Design Director, becomes the Outdoor Group’s Creative Director, while Michael Byrne, Backpacker’s Western Sales Director, becomes the magazine’s National Sales Director.
