The Big Gear Show has big sustainability plans
The newest member of the Plastic Impact Alliance, The Big Gear Show, aims to be a zero-waste show within three years and has a host of ideas that just might make it the greenest outdoor trade show.
Hostetter is the editorial director of Outside Business Journal. She served as BACKPACKER’s gear editor for 22 years, and is the author of four books: Backpacker’s Complete Guide to Outdoor Gear Care and Maintenance, Adventure Journal, The 10 Essentials of Outdoor Gear: What You Need to Stay Alive, Don’t Forget the Duct Tape, and The Tent and Car Camper’s Handbook. She has appeared as a gear expert on many national TV shows including TODAY, The Early Show, and The Martha Stewart Show.
Hostetter is also a co-founder of the Plastic Impact Alliance, a consortium of outdoor companies dedicated to reducing their use of single-use plastic.
