Life Fitness announces the Life Fitness Virtual Trainer smartphone app coming soon. The new app will sync with the popular Life Fitness Virtual Trainer Website to enable exercisers to update workout results on both the website and mobile devices.

Life Fitness has announced that Frank van de Ven will assume the role of vice president for the company’s international business unit. Van de Ven has overseen the international business in an interim capacity since April 2010.

Now, exercisers can share fitness accomplishments and post workout updates with friends on Facebook, through the Life Fitness Virtual Trainer.

Fitness Pioneer Jack LaLanne passed away Sunday, January 23, 2011, at the age of 96. Life Fitness President Chris Clawson issued the following statement regarding LaLanne’s passing:
