This could be the best trail snack on the planet.

Crazy good. I could end this review right here. But I won’t.

It’s fair to say that I’ve sampled hundreds of energy bars and trail snacks in my day, but these are in a whole new league. Cracker N’ Nut Butter Bars are crunchy, savory, chocolate-covered slabs of heaven, and way too tasty to be relegated to the realm of trail food. I’m addicted to the perfect balance of salty and sweet.

These are beautiful in their simplicity: There are basically four ingredients. Tucked between two sea-salted multigrain crackers is a swath of creamy organic nut butter mixed with organic honey, and the whole thing is dipped in rich chocolate.

Cracker N’ Nut Butter Bars have the snap and crunch of a Kit-Kat, the sweet, satisfying richness of a Reese’s, and they’re ideal for a quick anytime snack, whether you’re hitting the trail, the gym, or the office (they go great with a cup of coffee). Kids adore them, and they’re healthy enough for the lunch box.

Nutritionally speaking, each bar has a respectable 5 grams of protein and just 9 to12 grams of sugar. They’re certified organic and kosher, and have no artificial colors, flavors, or preservatives. You can choose between three flavors. (I’ve tried the almond and peanut butter versions, both of which are awesome):

  • Almond Butter & Dark Chocolate
  • Cashew Butter & Dark Chocolate
  • Peanut Butter & Milk Chocolate
