- The ancient Indian practice of yoga was developed and taught by men, according to this story, but women are the dominant practitioners in this country. Yoga Journal reports that 82 percent of yoga practicioners in 2012 were women. But more and more men are doing yoga and there are even men’s-only classes popping up.
- Speaking of men in yoga, Maroon 5 rocker Adam Levine recently was crowned People Magazine’s “Sexiest Man Alive.” He said his sexy regimen includes a vegan diet and yoga practice. Check out this story that quotes Levine saying he wouldn’t know what to do without yoga.
- The obesity epidemic in our country is affecting more than just our waistlines. According to this story, despite our high spending on health, the U.S. still has a lower life expectancy rate than other countries. The average life expectancy in this country is 78.7.
- According to research company Gartner, tablets and fitness trackers will outpace smartwatches this holiday spending season. So how do you pick the right fitness tracker for whoever you are shopping for — or for yourself? This article offers tips on the factors to take into consideration.
- When your customers are looking to begin an exercise regimen, they should pay attention to three numbers, according to this U.S. News story: their body-fat percentage (selling body-fat calipers?), the amount of weight they’re lifting and how many repetitions they’re doing, and protein intake.
