  • Clif Bar & Company, in Emeryville, Calif., promoted its president and chief operating officer, Kevin Cleary, to CEO. Cleary will focus on expanding Clif Bar’s growth in the sports nutrition and healthy snacks category while continuing to lead the company’s day-to-day business operations. Owners Gary Erickson and Kit Crawford will continue as co-chairs of Clif Bar’s board of directors and become co-chief visionary officers.
  • Klean Kanteen in Chico, Calif., promoted president, Jim Osgood, to CEO and chairman. Osgood started with the company in 2011 and replaces longtime CEO, Darrel Creswell.
  • Brooks Sports in Bothell, Wash., named Anne Cavassa as vice president of global apparel. In the new position, Cavassa will manage the Moving Comfort brand and business, as well as the Brooks Running Company apparel business. Most recently, Cavassa worked at Timberland, where she led the global apparel brand strategy and was head merchant for the North American footwear business. Prior to Timberland, experiences at Ibex, Nike, Eastern Mountain Sports, Reebok, Tommy Bahama, and Eddie Bauer round out her résumé.
  • Mount Vernon Mills in Mauldin, S.C., hired Carolyn Black, a 20-year veteran of the textile industry, as the company’s new FR technical specialist, where she will focus on the company’s flame-resistant fabric brand, Mount Vernon FR. Her goal will be to increase Mount Vernon FR brand awareness among end-users, especially in the Canadian provinces. Over the course of her career, Black has worked with companies including Bulwark, DuPont Canada and Shell Canada Limited, as a customer relationship and marketing specialist. Most recently, as a marketing specialist at MWG Apparel, her emphasis was on customer relationship service and development.
