  • Health+Fitness Business Expo, the annual trade show for the North American retail fitness industry, organizers announced a partnership with fitness business veteran and journalist Therese Iknoian to act as consultant and ambassador to the industry. Iknoian, the former editor-in-chief and co-owner of the insider trade news service SNEWS, will bring her extensive industry expertise and personal connections with key fitness retailers and suppliers to the show.
  • Push, Pedal, Pull (P3), the Sioux Falls, S.D.-based retail chain, recently hired Zane Christensen, formerly of 2nd Wind Exercise Equipment, to manage the new store that opened in Burnsville, Minn., in March. P3 Manager Luke Reiland moved to the Maple Grove location.
  • Med-Fit Systems, Inc., manufacturer of Nautilus commercial fitness and SportKAT balance assessment products, announced recently Henry Chang joined the company as director of procurement. Chang has more than 16 years of procurement experience and was recruited into Med-Fit Systems by the company’s COO, Sean Smith. Smith formerly worked with Henry Chang at both Toyota and 24 Hour Fitness.
  • 24-Hour Fitness Clubs in Pennsylvania, which recently emerged from bankruptcy, announced fitness industry veteran Doug Cash will take over as CEO. Cash, the former chief operating officer at Tennis Corporation of America, Chicago, took over for the clubs’ founder, John Brinson, who resigned as part of a resolution filed in U.S. bankruptcy court with NovaBank of Philadelphia, the clubs’ lead bank. Brinson will remain as owner and board chairman, as reported by Club Industry.
  • Town Sports International, New York, has hired Terry Kew as its new chief operating officer, the company announced on Monday. Kew replaces Martin Annese, who is leaving TSI on May 11.
