15th Annual Arthritis Foundation California Coast Classic Raises Over $1.35 Million

LOS ANGELES, Calif. (September 15, 2015) – The 15th annual California Coast Classic Bike Tour presented by Amgen, has raised record-breaking numbers of over $1.35 million to benefit the Arthritis Foundation. Registration for the bike tour has sold out and more than 350 riders and volunteers will participate in the 525-mile scenic ride from San Francisco to Los Angeles from September 26 to October 3.
The California Coast Classic Bicycle Tour (CCCBT) is the number one fundraising event for the Arthritis Foundation. This eight-day, fully supported ride along California’s iconic Pacific Coast Highway raises funds to help support the Foundation’s vital research, advocacy and programs for those with arthritis. The 2015 tour welcomes the event’s dedicated veterans, as well as new riders who are traveling from all areas of the country and overseas.
“We’re thrilled that the anniversary tour is sold out and we are on track to have a record breaking year,” said Amy Robertson, Vice President of Development for the CCCBT. “The passion of our riders, volunteers and donors has been extraordinary and we are grateful for their work to raise funds and awareness to advance our mission to find a cure”.
The Arthritis Foundation is the nation’s largest private funder of research, public health programs and advocacy on behalf of the 53 million Americans affected by this painful disease. The CCCBT and related activities not only raise funds for the Arthritis Foundation’s mission, but also raises awareness of the widespread and serious impact of arthritis and related diseases.
