Senior Team Prepares for Olympics, New Licensing Agreements, Launch of Proprietary Technology and Brand Growth
SALT LAKE CITY (January 25, 2010) –180s, a leading manufacturer of wintersport performance accessories including gloves and ear warmers, today announced senior management changes in preparation for aggressive growth for 2010. Jay Wilkins has been promoted to chief operating officer and Shelley Foland has been named as director of sales. In addition, Brian Parker has been appointed director of marketing. All changes take place immediately.
180s is initiating a strategic growth plan that includes sponsoring Olympic hopeful freeskier Patrick Deneen in the upcoming games commencing February 12, launching proprietary technology in the running apparel category, and executing additional licensing agreements with colleges, professional soccer, and most recently, Susan G. Komen for the Cure.
“We are on track to grow the brand this year, and this is the team to make it happen,†said Wilkins. “We continue to push ourselves on the technology front, which enables us to expand our product offerings. We are planning to enhance the categories that are working now, while providing consumers and athletes with additional solutions that meet their needs. We look forward to a strong 2010.â€
Wilkins has been at 180s since 2004, serving in a variety of operational positions, most recently CFO. He has been part of the team that helped develop 180s’ proprietary technology and product expansion.
Shelley Foland, with more than 25 years experience in international sales, has been promoted to director of sales. She has been with 180s since 2006 and has been successful in signing licenses with Adidas for the NFL, along with over 90 collegiate licenses, National Hockey League, soccer and, most recently, with Susan G. Komen for the Cure.
Brian Parker has been promoted to director of marketing, responsible for all marketing initiatives including advertising, social media, public relations and merchandising. Prior to 180s, Parker worked at Black & Decker for 9 years in various marketing positions including marketing research, brand and channel marketing.
