2010 GORE-TEX® TransRockies Run Results

Max King and Andy Martin Take Top Honors

September 9, 2010, Beaver Creek, CO- After six days, 117 miles and more than 25,000 feet of climbing, the 2010 GORE-TEX ® TransRockies Run came to a finish on Friday, August 27th, in Beaver Creek, Colorado.

Almost 250 runners completed the race from Buena Vista to Beaver Creek, overcoming steep inclines, rough trails, and slippery descents. The charge was led by Open Men’s division winners Max King and Andy Martin from Bend, OR, who finished the six-stage race in a cumulative time of 15:45:37.

Jason Wolfe and Eric Bohn (Flagstaff, AZ) took second place overall, followed by Nicholas Selbo and Josh Wheeler (Chattanooga, TN) in third.

Ellen Parker (Seattle, WA) and Melody Fairchild (Boulder, CO) won the Open Women’s division in a total time of 19:55:26. France’s Danielle DeGuire and Amlie Fournier took second and Jaclyn Greenhill (Chattanooga, TN) and Roxanne Zobava (Atlanta, GA) were third.

The Open Mixed division was closely contested as Bryan Dayton (Boulder, CO) and Kristin Moehl (Seattle, WA) claimed the title in 19:02:16. Mark Nelson and Care Wakely fought hard for second place and Aliza LaPierre and Chad Denning were third.

Nikki Kimball (Bozeman, MT) and Monica Ochs (Anacortes, WA) swept all six stages in the 80+ women’s division and took the title in 22:02:16. Jeannie Debari and Kelly Hambelton were second and Carolyn Hawes and Liz Vanderkruk were third.

Ted Russell (Park City, UT) and Ross McMahan (Incline Village, NV) swept in the 80+ Men’s division and won the division title in 18:55:26. Mark Thurston and Andres Santiago took the second spot as Dan and Tom Moline cruised into third.

Julie Leasure and Peter Courogen (Portland, OR) won the 80+ Mixed division with a time of 19:31:32. Adam Chase (Boulder, CO) and Sara Wagner (Flagstaff, AZ) were second followed by Ken Sinclair and Denise Bourassa in third.

Aaron McConnell, TransRockies US LP race director, stated, “Runners can just focus on running and leave the rest to us. Once they arrive at registration everything is taken care of for them. Some even say it is like “summer camp” for adults. They share the trails, spectacular scenery, great food, and customer service that all leads to the most amazing “vacation” they have ever experienced.”
