SALT LAKE CITY, UT (April 14, 2009) – 3point5.com online training experts will address Outdoor Industry Association members in July as part of the 2009 Outdoor University retail education program.
The 2009 Outdoor University® retail education program, consisting of monthly, one-hour webinars, is designed to help improve business infrastructure, ensure skill development and provide information on emerging trends and technologies. Its focus: challenges specific to outdoor industry businesses.
3point5.com builds online training sites for retail salespeople in the Outdoor, Hunt/Fish, Snowsports, Action Sports, Footwear, Bike, Golf and Tennis industries. Salespeople train for free but must pass online “Edu-Games” to earn deep discounts on the products they sell.
The topic of the 3point5.com seminar, “Boost Your Sales and Your Sales Staff’s Expertise with Online Training” is an ideal fit, said 3point5.com CEO Duncan Robins.
“We are honored to be chosen by OIA to address this crucial topic,” Robins said. “3point5.com is at the forefront of online retail training technology – this will be a way for all OIA members to benefit from our experience across multiple markets.”
Over the last two years, Outdoor University has educated over 300 specialty retailers through regional workshops in the field and received positive reviews. For 2009, the program format shifts online to ensure the workshops are accessible to all retailers, no matter their location. Each workshop will be recorded and archived so that is can be rebroadcast on demand.
“Each year, the Outdoor University program is developed based on retailer and rep feedback,” said Ann Obenchain, vice president of member services and marketing for OIA. “By evolving Outdoor University into an online format, we are able to provide a convenient and affordable resource directly to retailers in their markets.”
A launch party for OIA Webinar attendees and presenters will be held at the OIA booth at Outdoor Retailer, scheduled for July 21-24 in Salt Lake City. Outdoor University is free to OIA members or $99 per webinar for non-members. Pre-registration is required.
