Woodinville, WA – An agreement to exclusively outfit Mountainside Fitness’s club network with Precor cardio and Cardio Theater entertainment represents a $5 million commitment to national expansion, said Mountainside President and CEO Tom Hatten.

“We’re excited to bring our brand of health and fitness outside of Arizona, and with our commitment to Precor for our cardio and entertainment equipment,” said Tom Hatten, President and CEO of Hatten Holdings, Mountainside Fitness’ parent company.

Through the agreement that extends through 2008, Precor exclusively will provide Mountainside with cardio fitness equipment, including treadmills, exercise cycles, elliptical crosstrainers, as well as entertainment systems, through the Cardio Theater line.

One of Arizona’s fastest-growing businesses, and the state’s largest independent fitness club chain, Mountainside Fitness plans to open eight new facilities in Mountain States locations within the next 24 months.

Mountainside currently operates six facilities in the Phoenix/Scottsdale metropolitan area, with a philosophy of offering the best value and the highest level of health and fitness program services to its members.

Hatten said the decision to commit to agreement with Precor was based on Precor’s history of outstanding performance in serving Mountainside.

“It’s a very competitive marketplace, and there are outstanding supplier choices in categories ranging from fitness equipment to facility construction and design,” said Hatten. “Precor has a unique ability to deliver a combination of outstanding product quality and customer service. Most suppliers excel in one area or the other, but Precor is unique in its ability to provide products and services that elevate the member experience and enhance our business success.”

Precor vice president of commercial sales Larry Domingo said the agreement reflects Precor’s confidence in Mountainside’s aggressive growth strategy.

“I’ve worked with Tom Hatten for six years, and he always has delivered on his promise to exceed member expectations through outstanding service. Plus, from a business perspective, Mountainside has systems in place to operate efficiently and profitably,” said Domingo. “I don’t think there’s any question that Mountainside Fitness will present a compelling choice as it expands into new markets.”

In its 16th year serving the Arizona fitness community, Mountainside Fitness recently was recognized as one of Arizona’s Top 10 Hottest Companies by Biz AZ magazine. Mountainside also is the official fitness center of the Phoenix Suns.

In addition to featuring premium-quality Precor cardio equipment, the new Mountainside facilities will feature Cardio Theater entertainment systems.
